Some of Florida’s most atrocious hoopties rolled into Main Beach Park in Fernandina Beach, FL on March 7, 2025 for the Concours d’Lemons. Held in conjunction with the Classic Motorsports Magazine Kick-Off Party over 250 cars packed into the beach side park on a sunny Florida afternoon. Jeff Stoyer took home “Worst of Show” honors with what used to be a 1960(ish) VW bus that had been hacked up and put back together as an orange grove tractor with two transmissions, one PTO, no brakes, chains and ratchet straps serving as structural members and bungie cords helping hold one of the transmissions in gear. “It only goes about 13 miles and hour, which is good, because it doesnt have any brakes,” laughed Jeff. “The two transmissions feed into each other through the PTO, so if you get the gears set just right you can have 13 speeds forward, or in reverse,” Jeff continued pointing to the bright orange bugie cord serving as a gear shift lever. There might not be a more “Florida” vehicle in the state and it was a worthy “Worst of Show” recipient.
